Humanity in its growth expanded past Earth to its moon Luna. From there, a system of Colors was created to further the expanse into Sol. Soon other worlds were terraformed using the HE3 that is in abundance deep beneath Mars surface. All planets but the gas giants have been terraformed completely. The Core is the planets closest to the Sun. Separated by an asteroid belt is The Rim which has the rest of the planets within Sol. These two regions of space have grown and worked independently even though the Core has tried to reign the Rim in, it has only led to bitterness and destruction of moons. Which has lasted to this day, including an unexpected turn of events. The Red's Rising.
Deep within the mines of Mars a song sprung forth and was soon played around the planet on all the HC’s. Break the Chains. Reds rose up, other colors tired of their treatment within the Empire turned and joined the rebellion group Sons of Ares.
Howler’s Void, Mars 2870.
The Sons of Ares have made their move, destabilizing the Government on Mars and even going so far as to gain a foothold within Luna where the current Emperor sits. Yet with it all, it has only changed the status quo, not replaced it.
Still the Reds deep within Mars toil and work in dangerous conditions extracting the HE3 so that the gas giants can be terraformed. Still, they are not thanked and even looked down upon as filthy. With aid from other caste colors who are sympathetic, they embarked on another rebellion. Overtaking the mines on Mars, they held the HE3 hostage until their demands were met. That is until an unknown explosion rocked Mars sending out toxins into the very air that everyone breathed. What was left of Mars citizens headed for the space station above, where they waited for their homes to be rebuilt; family and friends lost to the very planet they call home.
A few months later the colony was rebuilt, but the lasting effects on the planet are still ongoing. The Emperor, not pleased with the state of Mars has given it harsher laws and decrees. While also keeping the distance, Mars is on its own if it wishes to rebuild fully and rejoin the core as a functional planet. Even worse is that no one has seen or heard of the Sons of Ares for awhile. Have they been eradicated by the explosion? Or are they just waiting for the right moment?
